ABOUT US

KELAPOT Indonesia is born, as a small solution to reduce the use of plastic. We utilize the abundance of coconut waste that piles up on all the shores of Indonesia. KELAPOT Indonesia consists of Indonesia’s brightest mind in their fields, we’re merging modern knowledge and collaborating with the traditional knowledge of villagers in Bali to collaborate for a simple real solution.

OUR STORY

Indonesia is the biggest coconut waste producer on earth. We have seen coconut waste clogging waterways, floating in the ocean, piling up in the garbage dump. This coconut waste becomes habitat for mosquitos to breed and slowly poluting our landscape.

As young generation growing in a waste-abundant landscape, we ponder what little action can we do that makes a change. And since coconut is rich in our history as the all-giving tree, we found the irony of it giving us illness and regional flooding as too much of a warning.

So we decided to take this small matter personally and compile our collected knowledge of industrial design, chemical engineering, digital creatives, and many other to start a small revolution in an peaceful village tucked in the rice fields corner of the island of the Gods.

OUR PRODUCTS

Pots as growing medium has been introduced since the beginning of history, not only in Indonesia, but all over the world. Pots has decorate the many houses and gardens of families and folks around the planet. But did we realize that 90 percent of pot materials are plastic-based? Even in the nurseries all the polybags are still made of plastic. It’s a dilemma where countries and islands campaign hard on reducing waste yet their agriculture industry is still filled with plastics for nursing the baby plants.

That’s why Kelapot is born, as a small solution to reduce the use of plastic. We are a 100 percent Indonesian product, and we utilize the abundance of coconut waste that piles up on all the shores of Indonesia. Coco fiber is a natural part of the coconut fruit and is known for its versatile function , especially for organic mulches. As a more eco-friendly alternative , coco fiber is naturally anti-bacterial and catches and keeps water, and provide excellent aeration for the plant roots.

All of the coconut waste are collected from all shores of Bali and ready to be deployed all over the planet.

Dreaming of saving the world! One pot at a time!
